Islamic economics with its firm bases in the Quran, has gradually emerged in the 20th century as a result of Muslim intellectuals to reform their socio-political and economic structures. In the subcontinent the prominent efforts were made by Seoharvi (1938), Siddiqi (1943), Hamidullah (1936, 1941, and 1944), Gilani (1947), Yusufuddin (1950), and others. They all have discussed, evaluated and debated the Islamic economic thought and made its comparative analysis. This initial literary phase roughly from 1930-1970 has been earmarked with pervasive writings on major themes of Islamic Economics and its competence focused mostly on the concept of riba (usury) its material and spiritual shortcomings, flaws in the socialism and capitalist economic systems. Moreover, scholars from the sub-continent offered the earliest models of interest-free banking i.e. Uzair 1955, Nejatullah Siddiqui 1969, based on a two-tier Mudarabah, Profit Loss Sharing and Murabahah mechanism. In this context, the current study highlights the politico-economic factors that led to the development of Islamic Economics with a historical and revisionist perspective. The data presented in the research is updated and examines varied dimensions of Islamic Economic thought, together with making an illustration of the comprehensive writings on the subject.
Athar Shahbaz Wani Mohd Iqbal Malik Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Islamic Economics Literatures 2025-10-02 2025-10-02 6 1 10.58968/jiel.v6i1.634 Mapping the Research Landscape of QRIS in Indonesia: A Bibliometric and Content Analysis from 2019 to 2025 https://journals.smartinsight.id/index.php/JIEL/article/view/632
This study aims to map the academic research landscape on QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) from 2019 to 2025, identifying key themes, trends, and factors influencing its adoption and implementation in Indonesia. A bibliometric and content analysis was conducted on 35 Scopus-indexed articles using VOSviewer. The study focused on co-occurrence mapping and thematic clustering to identify dominant research areas. The analysis revealed six major research clusters: QRIS adoption, payment system, perceived impact, behavioral use, innovation in tourism, and user acceptance. The findings show that although the number of studies is still limited, interest in QRIS research is growing steadily, particularly in its role within MSMEs and tourism sectors. Key drivers include perceived usefulness, ease of use, trust, and technological readiness, often analyzed through TAM, UTAUT, and TRAM frameworks. This research highlights the critical need for digital literacy, infrastructure development, and supportive policy to ensure inclusive and sustainable adoption of QRIS. It also underscores the importance of interdisciplinary research efforts and academic contributions in shaping the future of QRIS and Indonesia’s digital payment transformation.
Sarah Hana Hanifah Nurhidayati Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Islamic Economics Literatures 2025-10-02 2025-10-02 6 1 10.58968/jiel.v6i1.632 Boycott Movement on Dimensions Literatures https://journals.smartinsight.id/index.php/JIEL/article/view/640
This study aims to examine the research development on the topic of "Boycott Movement" and to propose a research agenda based on journals published on this theme.
